Acqua Mundo has 49 enclosures (freshwater, saltwater, aquaterrariums and terrariums) with representations of various marine and terrestrial habitats. Each enclosure is a replica of the animals’ natural habitat – such as the mangrove forest, rocky coast, coral reef, flooded Amazon forest, the Mato Grosso pantanal, and a sandy beach.

The biggest attraction is the Ocean, a tank with 800 thousand liters of salt water, built especially for the exhibition of large schools of fish and open sea fish, such as oceanic sharks. There is also the interactive Contact Tank, where visitors can touch urchins, sea stars and baby sharks.

We can find several species of animals, representative of the most diverse environments and groups – penguins, freshwater and saltwater fish, for example sharks, as well as reptiles such as lizards, alligators, snakes and turtles.

Including invertebrates, freshwater and saltwater fish, birds, mammals and reptiles, the space is home to 180 species with a total of 3,000 animals.
